We consider submissions through the Pine Hills Review Submittable page.
Pine Hills Review reads submissions from September 1 until May 31.
We seek submissions of previously unpublished fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and visual art. We are interested in quality work, no matter the genre, form, or style. Hybrid and experimental work is encouraged.
We encourage female or nonbinary writers, especially those outside a position of sociological privilege (non-white, disabled, LGBTQIA+, etc).
A cover letter is nice but not necessary. Do tell us who you are and how we can reach you, which our submission form will ask you to do.
If you’re sending in hybrid or cross-genre work, that’s awesome. Select whatever genre (poetry, fiction, nonfiction) you think works best. If you have visual elements or if the work is visually based, that’s also awesome. Paste it into your Word file.
We ask for first North American serial rights. Copyright reverts to the author upon publication. We publish work on our front page every Wednesday, and the work lives on in our archives page thereafter. If an author’s work later appears in a collection or anthology, we ask that you include us in the acknowledgements because it’s the cool thing to do.
We do read simultaneous submissions, but please withdraw your work immediately using the online submission site upon acceptance elsewhere. If one of the works from a batch has been accepted elsewhere, leave a note through Submittable. Do not email us with this information.
Poetry submissions should include no more than six poems total; please combine all poems into one document as a single submission. Submit one work or batch of work at a time as a single submission; multiple submissions from the same author will not be considered and will be returned. Nonfiction and fiction submissions should be no more than 3,000 words.
